About The Team

The Board and Executive Committee

Clarence is the founder and President of Blue Water Farms, President of the Minnesota
Aquaculture Association, and Secretary of the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute
developing and urban farm in Minneapolis.

Prior to his work in the sustainability field, Clarence was a Human Services professional, providing
supervisory and staff development to public and higher education organizations. He holds a BS in
Sociology and a Master in Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota, TwinCities.

Dean is an architect and President of DJR Architecture which he founded in 1985.

He is President of the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute. He has played a major role in the development of the Philips neighborhood. This includes the building of the Phillips Community Aquatic Center, East Phillips Community Center, the Bii Di Gain Dash Anwebi Elder housing and many others.

Jessica is the Vice President of Business Development with Blue Water Farms

Jessica is helping our startup with business presentations, project development, grant writing, as well as scientific development. Her experience includes aquaculture feed research with refined alfalfa protein; healthy cooking, gardening, and aquaponics demonstrations for students and scouting clubs;  mitigation tracking for wetlands and surface waters; and long-range community planning for growth and development. She holds a bachelor’s in environmental science and resource management from University of Washington, and a master’s in agroecology from University of Minnesota.

The Advisory Committee

Peter Bergstrom is Business Development Director at Archer Daniels Midland Company.

Peter has worked in Archer Daniels Midland’s (ADM) Animal Nutrition group from 2012 to 2020.
During which time he developed a road map for the launch of a new microalgae-based omega-3
product for launch on the global animal nutrition market. Peter previously held roles at Phibro Animal
Health Corp, Gallard-Schlesinger Industries (a subsidiary of CF Budenheim), and Orion Group.
Bergstrom holds a Master of Science in Economics and an Executive MBA from the Helsinki School of
Economics and Business Administration.

Harold Stanislawski is a project development director for the Agricultural Utilization
Research Institute (AURI).

In 1995 Stanislawski was appointed by former Minnesota Governor Arnie Carlson’s administration to
lead the Minnesota Department of Agriculture Business Development Services. He served nearly 10
years in that role. Harold was previously at the University of Minnesota Extension Service where he
was responsible for educational programming in agronomy and later in ag business and farm
management economics, and business expansion and retention for the West Central region of
Minnesota.. He received his Master’s Degree in agricultural education from North Dakota State
University and has completed the International Economic Development Council’s economic
development credit analysis course and profit mastery training.
